AWC New Member Spotlight: Catie Dymond
“I joined AWC Detroit to connect with like-minded professionals and to be part of a community empowering women. I am inspired to learn, grow and network with other female leaders in the local area. Everyone has been so welcoming, and I can’t wait to bring new perspectives to the group.”

Meet our newest member, Catie Dymond! Catie is a Content Developer for Cooper Standard, an automotive manufacturer in the metro-Detroit area. She has eight years of experience in corporate marketing and communications with exposure in the automotive industry.
Catie’s current responsibilities include managing the employee mobile app connecting over 23K global employees, drafting content and supporting internal company messaging.
Catie is passionate about bringing creativity to projects. She likes to look at a project with a fresh perspective and entrepreneurial mindset to elevate it to another level.
In 2018, she had an opportunity to pursue a short-term gig supporting the corporate communications department at Under Armour in Baltimore, Maryland. She got to participate in #ArmourDay and help support their internal, weekly newsletter and intranet in partnership with their graphic designer. It was a great learning experience and fun opportunity to network with their team.
Currently, she is pursuing her master’s degree from Michigan State University in strategic communications and is anticipated to graduate in 2028. She graduated from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business administration majoring in marketing.
Another fun fact about her – she has been a distance runner since the young age of 10 as a cross-country and track star. One of her running achievements was placing second in a small, local half marathon in 2021. This year, she ran a six-mile race in Traverse City with a family member. She told us that she has it on her bucket list to one day run a marathon!
When she has spare time, Catie explores the outdoors with her significant other, including activities like kayaking, biking, hiking and chasing the northern lights. One time in the upper peninsula, they pursued a fall color chase in a 14-hour road trip with stops at Tahquamenon Falls, Marquette and Pictured Rocks. Her favorite part is enjoying nature and having time to take in the fresh air and scenery.
