The Voice Toolkit
Presence, Warmth, and Authority, on Purpose

Date: Thursday, May 7, 2026, 5:30 to 8 pm
Where: Madonna University, 36600 Schoolcraft Rd., Livonia MI 48150
Why attend:
Led by AWC member, Barbara Boldt, this interactive session will explore voice as an instrument, and a tool. You’ll learn what creates voice quality (breath, resonance, pitch, pace, volume, and articulation), how much control we actually have over these elements, and how making small adjustments with our voice can change how a message lands.
We’ll unpack how intonation patterns influence meaning, emotion, and credibility; why enunciation matters for clarity and trust; and how listeners often infer personality traits from vocal cues. Participants will leave with a practical framework (or two) and several immediate techniques to sound clearer, more confident, and more intentional, while still sounding like themselves.
Key Takeaways:
After this session, attendees will be able to:
Create a simple “voice dashboard” they can adjust in real time
Discuss how voice quality affects trust and authority
Recognize intonation as meaning-making
Employ tools to avoid being misread
Navigate their relationship with “warmth vs. authority”
Voice-personality alignment
