Meet new member, Kim Kozlowski. Kim is a Higher Education Reporter for the Detroit News. Kim is a lifelong and award-winning journalist with more than 30 years in the field. She is known for her coverage of the Dr. Robert Anderson sex scandal at the University of Michigan.

Meet our current member, Patricia "Pat" Anstett. Pat is a semi-retired medical writer for Patricia Anstett Communications. Her discipline expertise includes 40 years in the newspaper industry with strong journalism skills, including writing and editing. She enjoys being an AWC member where she feels supported in her career and received nominations for several top awards.
Meet our current member, Carol Cooper. Carol is a professor and chair for mass communications at Rochester University. Her discipline expertise ranges from broadcast journalism and media writing to video production. She enjoys being an AWC member where she has opportunities to network and receive supports from other communications professionals.
Meet new member, Rachelle Graham. Rachelle is a senior communications manager for the Detroit Zoo. Prior to exploring opportunities in communications/public relations, Rachelle was a multimedia journalist and news anchor. She is excited to be part of the AWC Detroit Chapter, learning about best practices and networking.
Member Joanne C. Gerstner has launched an exciting new global content venture with Facebook. Learn more about Open Court, her newsletter platform, focused on sports, science and life. Joanne wants to share this experience and help AWC Detroit members think about their own newsletter ventures!

Meet new member, Anna Cangialosi. Anna is a Sr. Branding & Communications Manager for Barton Malow. She enjoys learning how their teams creatively solve challenges each day and tell their stories through various communication platforms that engage employees across our network of offices and job sites across North America.
Meet new member, Elishia "Jayye" Johnson. Jayye is the Director of Communications for Mothering Justice, a grassroots social justice organization that advocates for policy change centered around empowering black women to take action on policy issues that aim to improve quality of life for families in Michigan and America. Jayye is also an advocate for improved access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) resources for marginalized Youth and Adults to allow them to have the tools and knowledge they need to creatively express themselves. Jayye hopes to collaborate with other AWC members to advocate for positive change in our society.
Congratulations to Kimberly Voet, our August Media Room Spotlight! On her way to becoming a very successful News Director, she held a number of newsroom positions. Learn more about the woman responsible for managing the broadcast and digital newsrooms at WDIV-TV Detroit. She's a leader we can learn a lot from!
