Member Pat Anstett has always described journalism as a “skill for life”.  Retired nine years ago as medical writer at the Detroit Free Press, she recently ventured back into daily journalism during the pandemic at the invitation of the Huffington Post and Type Investigations, a national reporting non-profit trying to fill the void of shrinking local journalism. She was the lead reporter on a team reporting about the impact of COVID-19 on Michigan in an article entitled Detroit’s Health Care Workers Ask: ‘How Many Lives Can We Save?’, and also wrote four other stories for HuffPost.com on coronavirus-related topics. You can find her HuffPost stories here.

Pat hopes to continue writing about health as well as aging for the HuffPost site
