Career: Over 38 years in marketing leadership, worldwide profit & loss leadership, product/service launch, program management, sales management, and lead generation activity in the information technology, experiential marketing agency, non-profit, automotive and telecommunications industries. My career ranges from significant roles at Fortune 1000 companies (like Unisys and CA Technologies), to managing entrepreneurial ventures with national and global responsibility. I have a passion for helping young companies (particularly those led by women) grow.

Recently, through All Things Marketing LLC, I led global marketing campaign management for Infor, supported the groundbreaking digitalization team at ZF Group, and drove all marketing activity for 14 Midwestern Value Added Resellers for Dassault/Solidworks. I also directed marketing for the successful campaign of a first-time Michigan State Senate candidate in a highly gerrymandered district.

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, New York University

What You Should Know:

  • I have received multiple honors from my various large and small employers, for both dynamic and successful marketing and turnaround sales development.
  • I have been a frequent regional and national presenter on topics including: “Effective Marketing Management,” “Lead Generation for High Performance Sales Teams,” “Business Development – From A to W (Web-based Sales),” and “From Cold to Sold: Back to the Basics in Selling.”
  • I have written multiple whitepapers focused on digital marketing, sales automation, security software, effective call center management and call center automation tools. I am also a frequent guest on MiTech News and WJR Radio, mainly discussing trends surrounding women in technology.
  • Diva Tech Talk, one of my passion projects, has won 7 AWC Clarion Awards over the last 5 years.  We were featured in the May 2020 issue of Podcast Magazine.
  • As President of Telecorp, I took that (privately-owned) company public on the Financial Times Stock Exchange, just prior to 9/11/2001 (lots of lessons learned there!).
  • I have co-founded three startups. One of them, ardentCause L3C, was one of the first of its kind in Michigan, a limited low profit liability corporation furnishing software solutions and consulting to non-profits.

AWC Focus:  I was solicited to join by a number of wonderful women in our community, including Laura Oliveto and Nicole Scheffler (who is my co-founder at Diva Tech Talk).  I would like to network with other like-minded women and learn from them.

 Personal:

  • Family and hometown – I transplanted to Michigan, over 34 years ago, from the East Coast with my hyphenated husband for both a career opportunity and to be close to the ever-expanding Schock portion of our family.
  • Interests – Boating and fishing; writing, particularly for digital channels; helping startups and women leaders.

Causes/volunteer service: In my community life, I served for six years as Vice President of Marketing for the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation, focused on correcting the dramatic gender disparity gap in the tech industry by inspiring and encouraging women and girls to enter and stay in the field. Now, I am also the co-founder of Diva Tech Talk, producing podcasts focused on women in tech, to inspire more female participation in technology.  I was also on the advisory Board for Bamboo Detroit, the preeminent incubator and co-working space for Detroit-based entrepreneurs.
