Harnessing the Power of Words

Welcome new member and recent graduate Emma Ramsey!  Emma has a long history of involvement and experience in communications.

Of the many disciplines exercised in the industry, Emma’s favorite is to create public narratives that can potentially change people’s minds.

“I enjoy using my words and my voice to effect change,” she stated. “Words are powerful. They can form interpersonal connections and help people relate.”

Her mastery of words began as a member of the debate team while in middle school, and she attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, which has a nationally ranked public speaking team.

“I was lucky enough to help my team get to nationals multiple times while there,” she stated. She studied Rhetoric and Media Studies and double-majored in Philosophy. Subsequently, Emma has interned at the Clinton Foundation and most recently Ford Motor Company.

At Ford she worked on multiple internal projects and helped create media and content for its internal site to promote events. At the Clinton Foundation she assisted with FaceTime with members and setting up events. Emma’s strengths as an intern are that she’s really hard-working, and not afraid of a challenge.

Today, as she’s pursuing her next career move, in her hometown of Bloomfield Hills, Emma has part-time positions. An animal lover — despite being-allergic! — she is a professional dog walker and a certified yoga instructor. She started studying yoga during COVID and has since earned 500 hours of training. She’s open to exploring career opportunities in communications, public relations, or event management.

“I’m sort of building the plane as I fly,” she stated.” I look forward to being surrounded by the inspiring women in this group. I’m excited to meet people and grow professionally.”
